Spring Recognition
Breakfast 2010
A great time was had by all that attended the spring recognition breakfast for RSVP volunteers. The breakfast was held at the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge, on Friday May 7th. Over 180 volunteers and guest enjoyed the event, which was held to honor the volunteers and the extraordinary work they do in their community.
The volunteer of the year award was presented, by Project Director Jeff Stewart, to Della Shiell. Della is a true asset to her community, she has volunteered over 2,585 hours in the past five years she has been active with RSVP . Della volunteers at numerous locations including, but not limited to, Adirondack Mountain Club, Prospect Child and Family Center, Tri-County United Way, Warren County Tourism, CWI, and numerous jobs at the Glens Falls Hospital. We thank Della for all she does in her community.
We would like to thank our speakers from House Calls pharmacy, and the Price Chopper Golub Corporation, the information they shared will be very useful. We would also like to thank Washington County CARES, Warren County Office for the Aging, The Glens Falls Family YMCA and House Calls Pharmacy for helping sponsor our event. We also want to thank the many area businesses that donated door prizes to the event, which made the event a fun experience for all that attended and they were greatly appreciated.
RSVP of Warren and Washington Counties’ over 430 volunteers gave almost 27,000 hours of service at 90 worksites in the past year. RSVP of Warren and Washington counties is sponsored by the Tri County United Way locally, and is funded through Federal, state and local resources. We are one of over 750 RSVP project throughout the United States.
